    rsgrob Excellent info thanks mate. Explains it well. (One of the nice things that I like about SS is that you can Silver Solder it).
    I'm interested in how the rear fixed baffle aligns with the front removable baffle. Because the front muffler inlet hole doesn't align with the rear outlet. Looking at the late type and also an earlier pre-war 'fatter' type, there's an offset, I'll post a pic to clarify. ...

    Baffle + measurements & Baffle types

    The previous drawing didn't include measurements, this one does. Hopefully it'll work ok. It's a pdf file so I presume you'll need Acrobat on your computer to 'read' it.
    Also, if anyone knows the differences between the earlier and later Fishtail baffles I'd like to know, particularly about the rear fixed (welded in) baffle. Is it the same in both types or not?
